The Silver Bloom  is covered entirely in hand-pressed petal forms — each one individually stamped into the surface of the clay, arranged in radiating clusters that repeat across the body from base to rim without interruption. There is no plain surface left. The texture is total, and it is this completeness that gives the pot its particular quality: from a distance it reads as a single, dense, almost stone-like object; up close, it resolves into hundreds of individual marks, each petal slightly different in its impression depending on the pressure and angle of the tool.

The finish is a pale chalky white — applied over the entire textured surface and partially abraded, so that the recesses between petals hold the colour while the raised faces of each petal catch the light and show variation. In shade the pot reads as cool and quiet, almost silvery. In direct sun the texture becomes strongly three-dimensional, each petal casting a small shadow into its neighbour. The effect shifts through the day in a way that smooth-surfaced pots do not.

The form beneath the texture is low and wide — a compressed, bowl-like shape that tapers gently from a broad shoulder to a narrower base. The rim is thick and smooth, a deliberate pause before the texture begins. The interior is left in a dark, unfinished clay. The overall proportion is grounded and settled; the Silver Bloom planter sits close to the earth, which is appropriate for a pot whose surface is drawn entirely from the plant world around it.

Placed on grass, as photographed here, the white petal texture reads in direct conversation with the green beneath. On stone, tile, or gravel it becomes quieter and more architectural.
