About Midori

Design ideas for every space

About Us

“Midori was born from the belief that greenery is not optional — it is the soul of a space.”

Midori exists at the intersection of nature and space. We bring greenery into homes and living environments not as decoration, but as design — as the element that completes architecture, grounds the spirit, and transforms the pace of daily life.

In a fast world, we create still points.
In built spaces, we bring breath.

Principal Curator & Founder

Beena Sambaragimath did not set out to build a business. She set out to answer a question that kept returning to her every time she walked into a beautifully designed space that somehow felt unfinished. The answer was always the same — it was green, it was living form, it was the garden left outside when it belonged within. That conviction became Midori

As principal curator and founder, Beena occupies a role that resists easy definition. She is not simply a buyer of plants or a seller of pots.  She reads a space the way others read a room — its light, its proportion, the way it holds an afternoon. Every plant, every vessel, every handcrafted piece in the Midori collection has been held against one quiet standard: does it carry something beyond what the eye immediately sees?

What began as a deeply personal practice in Belagavi has grown, without compromise, into a Studio trusted by clients across homes, estates, and hospitality spaces far beyond the city. Midori has stayed, through all of it, exactly what it was meant to be — considered, unhurried, built on a sensibility rather than a catalogue.

To come to Midori is to encounter that sensibility first. The shop, the studio, the garden — all of it is an extension of one curator’s eye, and an open invitation to find what already belongs in your space.

Our Vision

We started Midori from a simple, stubborn belief: that the most alive spaces we’d ever been in always had greenery — not as an afterthought, but as intention. Something growing. Something that made the room exhale, and the people inside slow down just enough to notice they were present, breathing and the soul felt alive.

We live in a world that doesn’t slow down. Cities are getting denser. Schedules are getting fuller. The pace of everything — work, information, expectation — continues to accelerate. And in the middle of all of it, most of us have quietly lost our connection to the one thing that has always grounded human beings: nature. Midori was built to close that distance. Not by retreating to the countryside, but by bringing the garden in — to your home, your workspace, your hotel lobby, your corner of the city. The second thing we believe — equally firmly — is that great spatial design is incomplete without living form. Greenery is the final element of architecture that brings it alive with energy that envelopes the inhabitants.

So Midori works at the intersection of two things that are really one: the wellbeing of the people inside a space, and the completion of the space itself. We approach each project not as a planting exercise, but as a design act — asking what a space needs to feel whole, and what a person needs to feel present.

We are a small studio. We move slowly and with care. We believe the most important things — a well-placed plant, a moment of stillness, a room that finally breathes — are worth taking time over.

Thank you for being here. We hope Midori brings something living into your world.
