The Rim Rope Planter begins with the clay itself. Fine horizontal striations are worked across the full body — close, even, and continuous from base to rim — giving the surface a textile-like quality that catches raking light and shifts subtly through the day. The terracotta is left in its natural state: warm peach-orange, unglazed, unfinished, honest about what it is.
At the rim, a length of thick natural jute rope is laced through evenly spaced holes and knotted at intervals — a detail borrowed from basketry that gives the planter its name and its character. The rope sits proud of the opening, adding height and texture to the rim without obscuring it. Raw clay and raw fibre: two materials that have always belonged together.
The form is rounded and generous, broader at the shoulder than at the base, with a wide open mouth suited to full, leafy specimens and large-rooted plants. The proportions are easy and unhurried — a pot that settles into a space rather than demanding it.
Available in three nesting sizes or individually. Also available in Nila — a deep cerulean blue for those who want the same form with a bolder presence.
