The Jaali

Price range: ₹999.00 through ₹2,999.00

A set of three low, egg-shaped terracotta planters with a stamped Jaali lattice band at the shoulder, filled with a white lime wash. Plain raw clay below, structured grid above — a quiet and considered division that gives the form its character.

The Jaali Planter is a low, egg shaped terracotta pot defined by a single band of pressed grid texture that wraps the upper shoulder of the form. The pattern is stamped directly into the clay before firing — a tight, even lattice of small squares, each cell holding a trace of white wash that settles into the impressed surface and makes the grid legible without overstating it. Below the band, the body is left entirely plain: smooth, unglazed terracotta in its natural warm tone. The contrast between the worked surface above and the bare clay below gives the pot a quiet compositional logic — structured at the top, open at the base. It is a form that looks resolved from every angle.

The egg shape itself is unhurried in proportion — wide relative to its height, settled close to the ground, with a broad and stable base. This makes it particularly well suited to low, spreading plants: succulents, ground covers, shallow-rooted specimens, or anything whose form echoes the roundness of the pot beneath it.

The white wash in the Jaali band is applied after stamping, allowing it to sit within the recessed grid rather than on the surface. In direct light, the pattern reads crisply. In softer, diffused light, it becomes more subtle — a texture more than a motif.

Available in three sizes and can be picked up individually as well.  Comes with a drain hole at the base.   The proportions and band placement are consistent across the set.
