Dahlia the sculpted petal terracotta planter, doesn’t need colour to hold a room. The entire surface is given over to one thing: the petal burst of a dahlia flower, radiating outward from multiple centres, overlapping across the wide tapered body in cool silver-grey matte terracotta. Each petal is individually sculpted in relief — raised, rounded, casting a shadow into the recess beside it. The result is a surface that is never the same twice: as light moves through the day, different petals catch it, different shadows deepen, the whole vessel shifts register without changing colour.
About Dahlia, the sculpted petal terracotta planter
The form sits low and full — wider at the opening, tapering gently toward the base — which gives Dahlia a grounded, settled quality that makes it feel permanent rather than placed. It works as easily on a garden step or covered patio as it does on a living room floor or a console. The Small at 16cm is the most precise desk object in the Botanica Collection — compact enough for a windowsill, detailed enough to be looked at rather than past.
Each Dahlia is hand-painted. Slight variation in tone and petal depth across the surface is inherent to this process — it is the mark of the hand, not a defect.

Care & Placement
